Support For Young Carers

No matter who you care for, support is available

At Glasgow South Carers Centre, we understand that being a young carer can sometimes feel difficult or overwhelming.

We’re here to make sure young carers have someone to talk to, listened to and get the support they need.

We can provide information, funding, one-to-one support and opportunities to meet other young carers who understand what it’s like to have caring responsibilities.

Through our YC Connect group we also offer activities, groups and opportunities to take a break from caring, have fun, build confidence and spend time with other young people.

Our support team can also help young carers understand their rights and access the support available to them at home, in school, college or in their community.

They may support young carers by completing a Young Carers Statement with them.  A Young Carers Statement helps young carers talk about their caring role, how it affects their life and what support they may need to feel well, stay connected and achieve their goals.

Most importantly, we want young carers to know that they don’t have to manage everything on their own, our young carers workers are here to support them.
