Support For Carers

No matter who you care for, support is available

As a carer, you are entitled to a range of support from your local carers centre. If you live in the South of Glasgow, we are here to support you.

Here’s what we offer:

  • Information and Advice: We can offer advice on various topics relating to your caring role.
  • Emotional Support: We offer a listening ear when you need it.
  • Training & Peer Support: Enhance your skills and confidence with our informative training sessions and non-judgemental groups for carers
  • Funding for Short Breaks: Take a well-deserved break using our funding pots.
  • Emergency Planning: Ensure you have a plan in place for unexpected situations.
  • Young Carers Support: We offer dedicated support and resources for young people caring for loved ones.

Glasgow South Carers Centre

The Glasgow South Carers Centre, delivered by The Dixon Community, is the commissioned provider for supporting unpaid carers across the South of Glasgow. We form part of the Glasgow City Carers Partnership, working collaboratively with local carer centres, condition-specific organisations, health and social care professionals to deliver coordinated support for unpaid carers.

Unpaid carers provide essential support to family, friends or neighbours affected by illness, disability, mental health or addiction, without financial reward. Recognising the vital role they play, our service ensures carers are identified, supported, and empowered to sustain their own health and wellbeing alongside their caring responsibilities.
