Support For Professionals
Information for Professionals
The Glasgow South Carers Centre is here to support unpaid carers by providing information, advice, guidance and practical support based on their individual needs.
We work closely with health and social care professionals, community organisations, education providers and other local services to make sure carers are recognised, supported and connected with the right help.
Working with Carers Centres can help professionals identify carers who may need extra support, provide help at an early stage, and make sure carers are included in assessments and care planning. By working together, we can make sure carers get the right support at the right time, while helping professionals better understand and respond to their needs.
We are always looking to build stronger links with local organisations and offer free Carer Aware information sessions to help teams understand carers’ rights and the support available to them.
Help us make Glasgow Carer Aware. Contact us to arrange a free information session for your organisation, team or department.
Glasgow South Carers Centre
The Glasgow South Carers Centre, delivered by The Dixon Community, is the commissioned provider for supporting unpaid carers across the South of Glasgow. We form part of the Glasgow City Carers Partnership, working collaboratively with local carer centres, condition-specific organisations, health and social care professionals to deliver coordinated support for unpaid carers.
Unpaid carers provide essential support to family, friends or neighbours affected by illness, disability, mental health or addiction, without financial reward. Recognising the vital role they play, our service ensures carers are identified, supported, and empowered to sustain their own health and wellbeing alongside their caring responsibilities.
